In my dream the room is quiet and immersed in darkness. I hear a faint responsive moan when I first whisper her name. The stalled nocturnal air rushes in when I open the window wide open. The moonlight abruptly illuminates the room. I see her on the bed barely breathing and with a delirious gaze fixed on the celling. I untie her while she fights to stay conscious.  She tries to mumble the name of her killer but ends up coughs up blood instead. She finally reaches stillness as I hold her in my arms.

I had a dream of my wife. She was dead. But it was all right.
